Just got this in the mail yesterday from Thad Rybka, I'm very pleased. I like how the rough side is out.
This is the Bearpaw DLX model.

Thinking you'll be passing that holster down. Looks to be fit to LAST.

Yeah, that is very nice. I love fine leather gun stuff bit I do not have any of his work. I've always considered his work similar to Craig Spegel (not real easy to order but worth the trouble).

He only communicates through the mail. His address is 2050 Canoe Creek Rd Springville, AL 35146.
I first became aware of him when I saw a picture online of his "Speed Scabbard" for a Colt SAA. I had read he retired but I wrote to him asking if he would make one for my 4 3/4" SAA. He mailed me the order form, I filled it out and sent it to him along with a check, 6 weeks later the holster was delivered and it's become my favorite for carrying the SAA.
When I bought the New Frontier I looked around for a good holster to carry it in and didn't see anything that I liked so I wrote to him again asking what he could make that would work for a 7 1/2" New Frontier. He sent me the order form for the Bearpaw or the Bearpaw DLX with the retention strap, I filled it out, mailed in a check and 6 weeks later it was in the mail.
I also had him make a "Speed Scabbard" for the 7 1/2" SAA that is on it's way to my FFL.

I have thinned my holster pile for SA guns to pretty much just Thad’s holsters. They are solid, simple and extremely well build and they flat out work. I even got lucky and recently was able to get one of his shoulder holsters that swivels when you draw the gun. I’m glad to hear he is still taking orders. John Gallagher asked him about doing a holster for a gun he was doing for me and Thad told him he was retiring. May be that he found that concept rather biting once it happened and decided to keep crafting leather.
