Nice rifle Gary, I do like to shoot the roller now and then. I have one of Dave's rollers in 38-55. I have spoken with him on the phone and via email. A very nice guy, shares his time and info. freely.

Dave was a great help and a real nice guy to visit with. I keyed the breech block to the breech block pin using Daves method. Was easier than I expected. Only broke one 3/8 end mill. Oh well they are cheap. Seems to work very well and is very positive. Gives it a classy look. Now I have to detail finish the lever and bob the tab off the top of the breechblock.

That's turning out very nice Gary. I've always liked the rolling blocks and did manage to acquire one a few years back (.43 Spanish). I ended up giving it away before I did anything with it. Haven't replaced it.
Thanks for sharing the project and the progression.

I hear the 43 spanish is actually a pretty good round. I dont have any experience with it.
My partner and I are looking for a couple #1's to build Custer rifle 50-70's with.

Actually, the 43 spanish is real close to the 44-77 sharps bottle neck cartrage, witch we all know was a dandy. Bill

My friend (actually my wife's brother in law) eventually ended up having it rebarreled to 45-70, cleaned up and new wood. Turned out very nice.
He did find brass and bullet molds and shot it as .43 Spanish before.

That is looking pretty nice. I like the sidelever.
I bought a Model 1902 Rem Rolling Block in 1988. It had been restocked and rebarreled (to .22-250) so I was essentially buying the action. I had the idea of bringing it back to either it's original 7mm military configuration or turning it into a BPCR. After 19 years of doing nothing with it, I took the first step and bought an original 7mm barrel. That was about three years ago, and is where the project still stands. I'll get to it someday.
