I just bought a rough 57-1 for a project gun. It has a 6" barrel. I am going to have it trimmed to 5.5 or 5. Leaning towards the Weigand base. Anyone use anything unique on a S&W?

I have several Smiths with Weigand sights and without a doubt it's the best choice due to selection of blades and ease of changing them.
My favorite blade style is a partridge style that Andy has installed a small flush ivory bead.

I like Jim Stroh's set up best. He is installing one now on a 5" 45 Colt conversion he is doing for me. No solder, no visible screws, easy interchangeable blades and very close in look to the factory set up. I bought mine from Brownell's before sending it and the gun to him. Darn slick piece it is. www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=26564/Product/REVOLVER_FRONT_SIGHT
