When I was a kid I'd look at the ads in the back of outdoor magazines and think "This is the stuff rich people get!". I'm many things but rich isn't one of them but over ten years ago I got a set. Speaking with the creator of the idea on the phone was fun. He'd rattle of sixty fourths of inches as it related to my gun and he knew exactly what size of everything to get the centerline where you liked it. I've purchased three sets over time, sold one on a Kimber a few months back. Anyone else shoot these?

These and the S&K have always held that cool factor.

This action in this gun came from the pistol Ken Tapp used to win the long range event at the '88 Masters. Wish I was in a picture taking mode when I got it. It was a 7mm TCU in a red fiberglass stock that fed from a AR magazine...

I have a set on a Winchester Deluxe 70. I think they are more pretty than the rifle.

They are one hell of an idea.

Those and Buehler are the classiest of the rings, short of some claw mounts. But for traditional American rings, Conetrol keeps the lines clean on a nicely blued gun.

Wife bought me a fall sheep hunt in the Brooks range about 10 years ago, and I wanted the best gear for the hunt. I also had seen the conetrol adds in magazines for years, so I ordered a set for my REM 700. When I got them, they were for some other rifle. By then, time was short, and I needed the gun fully set up, so I could finalize a sheep load, so I called conetrol, and set a time to meet him at his shop in Seguin. 2.5 gr drive one way, but well worth the trip. One man shop, each piece of a set of rings is machined by him, and hand fitted. I had the rifle with me, and he helped me mount the scope. Dangedest shop I have ever seen, boxes and buckets of parts of rings, for a vast array of different rifles. He knew where each piece I needed was, had me set up in just a few minutes. He was pretty old it seemed, but sharp as a tack. The rings, mounted, look like they grew on the gun. Toughest and the most sleek design I have ever seen. If you don’t have a set, treat yourself. They are amazing.

Always saw the ads and had a set on a 700 for a long time. The only ones that look better to me are the David Miller ones he puts on his rifles
