I have become a fan of Smith & Wesson’s light weight wonders and picked up this 8 round N frame on Monday. A model 327 from the Smith & Wesson Performance Center in 357 mag. Just a bare bones small as you can get it N frame revolver. I think it will make a nifty pocket gun or for when I’m not in the mood to carry a big gun. Eight beans in the wheel

WOW! Is it just me, or is Cartridge OAL longer than the barrel on that?

I forgot there is a 327 cal. I modified the post to be more clear.

That is one ugly piece of equipment.

Sometimes ugly is cool.
If it had the hammer spur and the front of the trigger guard removed it would be a modern version of a Fitz special.

Boy, now THAT is a snubby! I also see that this is yet another Smiff that's warmed up to the 'ol Dan Wesson removable barrel system. Out of curiosity, what does your barrel wrench look like?

Charger Fan, I didn’t get a barrel wrench. All I got from the pawn shop was the gun and a receipt for 750.00.
Funny that you mention a Dan Wesson. The pawn shop has one for sale also.

My 327 is still unfired. Mine came with the Performance Center case and I also have the cardboard box that the whole package came in. When I bought it, one of the clerks looked over and said, "now that's a Roscoe!" I usually give my guns nicknames and that one stuck.

don't believe that S&W bbl is designed to be swapped out like DWs. That is surely a cool backup gun, serialsolver. Think Clint Smith carries one like that in an ankle rig.
My son got my brother's DW with 8 and 2.5 in. bbl assemblies awhile back. He's 20 now and wanted me to swap them out (to the shorter one) and since the specs for the barrel gap were missing I had to try looking them up online. Whatever source I found had it way too big, blew a hole in our sandbag.
As I looked at the bags innards leaking out, I remembered ".020" from my DW days.

Dan Wesson recommended a gap of about .06". The b/c gap tool was a tab of aluminum that you could use to screw the barrel down to. A piece of aluminum can would work just as well. I suppose if you wanted a tighter gap, you could screw it in until it cleared the face of the cylinder and then back it out just a bit.
To keep this post in line with the original thought, the only thing I don' t like about this revolver is the lock on the side. It looks like a serious defense revolver to me.
