Back in the day, coats were made of more substantial materials and pockets were capacious. I gave my Charter Arms Boomer to a nephew recently. It was to fill that niche. If you can find a Woolrich plaid wool coat, or a Pendleton, or a real barn coat, your in business.

Oh, my oil skin barn coat has the pockets but my hands and fingers have spent too many years grabbing framing hammers, 3” pump hoses and other heavy things. My hands are like scarred up fat little sausages stuck around the edge of a 2# meat patty🤪

Yeah, I hear ya. A bad morning for the arthritus and skin issue that's related. Then there are the quartz glass slivers that went in sterile and cysted over . Dexterous I'm not.
