Got the red dot mount in from FA. Is this what it looks like on other people's rigs? I thought it would be flush on the back and front.  |

That’s how my DP Pro fits too. A good buddy of mine had a local machine shop make mounts that the DP fits flush. It does make for a cleaner look.

That’s how my DP Pro fits too. Dan My Deltapoint Pro fit flush on the back side of a FA mount. FA may have changed the footprint of their mount, or perhaps sent the wrong mount? |

The packing says m83 and delta point. I can mill off the posts and move the whole thing forward. Put in set screws where the posts should be. But I don't think a guy should have to for what the mount costs  |

The Deltapoint and the Deltapoint Pro do not take the same mount. Leupold changed the footprint of the Pro so mounts for the original Deltapoint won't work.

My RMR / SRO's fit flush to the rear of the mount on my 83 using the FA mount.
I cannot figure out how to post my pic though.

Rickiesrevenge, As already mentioned, if you have at delta point pro, it will not gee-haw with the delta point mount. FA should swap out with you. Check out this link : Sight Footprints , it should shine some light on the subject and guide you to what you’ll need. |

At this point I just want to use the dot. So I'll either make a new one or modify this one to work. Don't want to wait 3 weeks for this one to make its way back to WY and then get the new one back to Alaska. They don't list a delta point pro on their site.

I think I’d give FA a call vs modifying the mount - It may end up damaging your sight under recoil.

It's not that hard go build one of these mounts from scratch. Modifying it will just make it a little quicker is all. I built mounts for a Blackhawk and BFR, so I know I can do it.

The DP pro will work fine with that mount, it just doesn’t look as nice. A deer or whatever you may be hunting probably won’t notice.
