I have small hands-size 8 or 8 1/2 glove and find the factory grips on N frame S&W's too large. On the other hand the magna grips (see my 25-5below) don't quite give me enough to hold on to. I tried Tyler T grips, but the knuckle of my middle finger gets banged around. So, now I am thinking of getting custom Roper grips from Herret's. www.herrett-stocks.com/roper.htmAny other suggestions? Thanks!

rwt, I have small hands and I think the Roper's are what you're looking for. Take a look at Blu Magnum grips too.

These Herrett's Target's in cocobolo's from CDNN fit me well. I like a grip that is smaller than most seem to desire that have my size hands. They are smaller than the factory targets and obviously larger than the magna's They are nicely finished, fit the gun very well and are darn reasonable too at ~$40. I have three pairs on my N-frames.

RWT, I also have 8 1/4 size hands, smack dab between Small and Med. Last year I ordered a set of Herrett Ropers for a M57 and when they arrived I was disappointed because they felt too big. Then I shot the gun with them and was pleasantly surprised how well they distributed the recoil. Pretty comfortable.
I also have a set of the CDNN Herretts that BH shows above. They ARE nice, but no mass production stock will ever feel as nice as one made to a tracing of your hand. Then again, $40 is less than $100.
As mentioned above Blu Magnums look very interesting too, but I'm a tad reluctant to go with stocks that start @ 2 bills sight unseen.
Another stock I like on the N round is the Hogue wooden. They fit me well but don't quite handle recoil like the Ropers.
All that being said, if I were ordering a new set, I think I'd try the Herrett Jordan Troopers. They have a loyal following on the S&W forum and seem to be appropriate for smaller hands.
Hope this helps. Pete

Thanks all!
I've sent a tracing to Herrett's.
They'll look at it and let me know which of their grips they'd recommend.
More to follow. haven't looked at Blu Magnum, but will.

Another grip maker of good reputation is Craig Spegel. His grips are of high quality, and will make them how you like. He was the original maker of the "boot grip" which has now been copied by many. You can purchase his grips, premade, in a variety of sizes and woods, from Lightning Arms, or you can contact him directly and he will make custom grips, to your hand size and shape. Highly recommended. www.craigspegel.com/Brian Codd

Going to try Herrett's Detectives, which are Troopers without a back. Plain walnut, no checkering, oil finish.
15-20 month turnaround.

Spoke with Craig Spegel today regarding an existing set of grips - was once again impressed what a decent man he is. Some putz (me) busted through the screw blind - he will fix it for $5. Five bucks? C'mon - I've spent more on a beer!
FYI, high end grips from him run ~ $150. For an extra $40 or so he will supply them oversize at the rear of the grip frame so that the edge of the frame can be scribed onto the grips, returned to him, and then he will finish the carve according to the scribe. Pretty good deal from a great guy.

Back in November, they quoted me 12-15 WEEKS. When I called the other day they said it would be an additional four weeks or about March first. Also, an earlier email said they were short handed.
