Saw this listed out on the interwebs and my mind said, "bead blasted and blued". A couple minuted later it struck me that it's probably Cerakote or some such. I can never figure out why one would paint a nice single action.

I know nothing of finishes honestly, but it kinda reminds me of nitrade finish and not so much cerakote? I'm not sure though, just another thought thrown out there. I have seen revolvers with the nitrade done and they do look good, to each's own though.

You mean where the finishes is gone? Could been a bad blue or somebody cleaned it too good?

Cerakote is painted then baked on. It is super durable and slick to boot!
I'd do a Blackhawk if I needed a hard use gun exposed to the elements often and for long periods.

It could be Cerakote. Look in the barrel and see if it's coated or inside the chambers. Cerakote won't be in there too far. If it's nitrided, it'll be same color as the outside as it is in there too. The nitride will be hard as woodpecker lips but can show some finish discoloration from wear (turn line maybe) but it usually only rubs the black off but the nitriding is still there. That area might go back to black if wiped with solvent or oil.
Cerakote will wear through but any discoloration should wipe off with a solvent. I've got muzzle brakes Cerakoted Desert Tan and Coyote with hundreds of rounds that will clean up.

Blood will do that to bluing, it almost looks like a drop of blood that got wiped off not too quick.

Juice from a really big roast beef sandwich will do that to a blued gun too...might have to leave it under the truck seat for a month or so.

looks to me like a fine bead blast than blued. Snyd has one by Gallagher that looks a lot like that.
