Well I am wanting to change my 1962 Ruger FlatTop 44 mag collared pin to the earlier style Non collared style I am wondering if the early 357 mag and 44 mag used the same pin? I don't think they would but I could be wrong hence the question I also thought why could I not just put mine in a large and cut off the collar I know people will ask why i want to remove it For two reasons One to emulate the gun I am making this after the original has no collar Second it makes for easy removal as the collared ones are not removable unless you remove the ERH... I love to keep things simple Stay safe out there God Bless,John Thanks in advance for reading this too

Why don't you give Belt Mountain a call? They probably make a pin just like you want.

Well thank you for the info I need the part to be original as it needs to be to a exact match to what I am doing I have tried to do things exactly how it was done on the original Elmer Keith gun I am hoping to find a original base pin I would love to see pics of a genuine early no collar one as I see many listed for sale and some look like colt or maybe clones out there Very cool now that I know both calibers are the same which will help finding one I hope I also think I want to change out the base pin retainer as the original one is different as both sides are flat slots not like the later versions Truly appreciate the help and response God Bless,John Stay safe out there too Here is the pin I am going to replace
