Don't buy the Wolf reduced power one, it might be just as bad or worse. Ruger would probably send you one for free if you told them what someone did to yours. HOWEVER... if you tell them what gun it's for, they might not. Nothing to lose though. (or give them the serial number to another Blackhawk if you happen to own one) Thanks cas, I saw this before I ordered so I just called Ruger and they're sending me two new ones. They were a little hesitant at first when I read them my serial number and they saw the gun was discontinued, but in the end they're sending them to me for nothing even after I protested paying something for them. Such a fantastic company, this isn't the first time they've helped me this much.

I once bought my first .357 Maxi BECAUSE of a bent trigger return spring,, causing the action to act hinky. I gave $275 for it,,,,,! I had a spring to replace it with,, and fixed it quickly.

Great now I have to pull the grip panels off all my older Blackhawks to see if they were tampered with. Not like I don’t like a reason to take all my guns apart

Great now I have to pull the grip panels off all my older Blackhawks to see if they were tampered with. Not like I don’t like a reason to take all my guns apart This is most likely what somebody did or attempted to do. Have seen this method on at least one custom gun and I have done a few myself. It is an alternative to letting one leg hang or cutting it off, some argue about spring fatigue and breakage. It doesnt take much to get results. www.cylindersmith.com/triggerspring.html
