Finally found an original barrel and cylinder from a Single Seven, so now on the prowl for a Stainless Single six in need of customization for a quarantine project. Already have the barrel wrench and facing cutters, so moving the firing pin and bushing will be the most delicate part of the project, since I've never done that. Appreciate any tips from those who've gone before down this rabbit hole.

I've got this concept of a mini flat top: single seven, 3.75" barrel, Bisley style hammer modified to fit a birdshead grip frame. Or, I have a Uberti Thunderer 2-piece frame that I could custom fit the rear half to the trigger guard portion of a cutdown factory plowhandle grip frame.
So far, I've collected the cylinder, barrel, short ER housing, and even a factory Bisley Single Six hammer (talk about a hen's tooth) - pretty much just need a stainless Single Six frame with enough meat above the rear sight cross pin to shave it down to a flat top.
Maybe put a pinned front sight on it from a stainless Blackhawk, or one of Fermin's.

Honestly stalled out. We converted 4 frames to centerfire and got one running as a 32. Need to get on my brother to see where he is on rechambering some cylinders.

My brother and I made up a single 10 to match my shorty super. We removed the sight from the old barrel and dilled a hole and countersink for the attachment screw. FYI doing this puts the screw hole about half an inch behind where it would normally be in the barrel. Measure twice, drill and tap once.

Dave - that Single Ten is a beauty. Other than the grip frame and top strap, very close to what I'm going for.
My search for a donor Single Six frame hit a detour. I went to a small local show a couple of weekends ago that always has an interesting selection of used and older guns, and didn't find the stainless NM Single Six I was looking for, but did find a 1986 Bisley flat top in .32 H&R that I couldn't pass up. Oh, well - once I replenish the project fund, I'll resume the hunt.

Yep - a New Model Single Six frame with a flat top strap and drift-only adjustable rear sight, like the old Single Sixes, but safe to load all six rounds. Has a 6 1/2" barrel with a Patridge style front sight, a fluted cylinder and a Bisley grip, hammer & trigger. This was the first one I'd seen in person, and at a price that made it clear the seller thought it was just another Ruger Single Six. Looks like this one (not my gun or picture - just an example I found):

Thanks for that, havent seen one either. I do have a couple of the fixed sight single sixes with the vaquero style, but they are 22's, for now anyway!
