Axe, I took it apart and checked it out. I have desided to shoot it a while before I do any adjusting. It's not like I'm going to be shooting a bullseye match tomorrow. I've just always wanted one. Bill

Yes it is steep because of Loveless doing the work. Have you seen what his knives are going for now days?

Now that is an odd creature..... Looks as if he has moved the hammer and made it external... Guess you can do a lot for $6000.... Perhaps it was done just to display what he could do.

What would be the gain in moving the hammer?? Every 41 I've ever shot has a pretty darned good factory trigger and with a trigger job they're excellent.
Pretty cool handgun but someone must have a serious man fetish to pay that, for that pistol.

I finally got it to the range today and OMG why did I wait so long to get one of these. This thing shows the potential to out shoot any HS I ever had. I didn't have any paper targets, but I did have paint and steel plates and this thing shot a real tight group a couple of times. Oh it was nice to have no snow or rain on a weekend for a change and temps in the 60's. Bill

Congratulations on your new gun .I bought mine about 34 years ago and my wife thought I was crazy for paying $375.00 for a 22 when A couple of years earlier I bought my S&W m-29 44 mag for $350.00 . Both guns were new by the way , I wish I could still get them for that price. Here is a couple of pictures of mine ;D

I have a 7.5" I got about 15 years or so ago. It was towards the end of the time they came with 12 round mags, so before late 1994 I guess. I'm kind of a High Standard nut, but like this one. I used to use it when I shot .22 silhouette. I used it in the Standing category, as it felt better to me in standing than the Contender I used for everything else in silhouette.
Mine liked CCI Green Tag the best, but I used Eley Practice 100 since that's what I used in the Contender and it shot them nearly as well.

We may have gotten crossed up here. Never saw anything but 10 round mags for a 41 S&W. Of course my experience is dated since I bought my last M41 in about '82. Never saw a 7.5 inch barrel either... It was 7 3/8 for the early long barrels. It was reduced to a straight 7 when the cutts style compensator want away..

The 7"/7.5" I'll give you. I was thinking of the 5.5" I always wanted and the 7" I got. The 12-rd magazines are real. I have no idea what vintage they are, but I have a couple. It's too dark to take a good picture, but I did the best I could with a flashlight. The "12" is probably visible, but the S&W logo below not so much. I'm wondering if these 12-rd mags appreared with the cheaper 22 auto that showed up around 1990- the 22A, I think. Whatever the model, they used the same magazine. EDIT: Found it- It's the 422/622/etc that used the same mag. One place I found them just now gave a S&W product number for this mag as 45142. All I see on the S&W site now are 10-rd mags. I was halfway thinking about getting more of them now that it's come up, and I found one on Gunbroker. www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=161467212

Never paid any attentention to those new 22 Autos that S&W made... Guess it is a sign of getting old when you consider a M41 a newer one when it doesn't have the cocked indicator that came on the originals......
