Thread title is a little misleading. Loaded up my .44 Bulldog Pug with CCI Shot loads, as it’s my “yard” gun. When the cylinder wouldn’t close, close examination revealed that all five rounds extended slightly beyond the cylinder face. I have 8 or 10 boxes of this round, so I pulled them all out and found that the one box I’d tried had much longer OAL compared to all the other boxes. Like about 1.530 vs 1.680” All 10 rds in the box with the longer rds were right at 1.680, and it was the only box like that. Just a factory fluke, or something I don’t know? Thanks, Skip

I guess I'm into maybe my 3rd box over the years and haven't seen that. Most thru a Bulldog. A blue/small shot, or the newish red/larger shot type ? A call to CCI in any case due.

Just up from basement . Mine all go 1.535 or so. Never a problem.

Thanks. Mine are the blue capsules, and it’s the capsule itself which is longer. Would work fine in magnum chamber. All of the other boxes have shorter capsules that chamber with, of course, plenty of room to spare. Not the end of the world, just wondered if that entire box was just a fluke. If I’d been using them in a slightly longer chamber, I’d never have noticed. Thanks, Skip

If long right outta the package, it's on CCI. I've bought n loaded the capsules for friends 357's and seat to cylinder and tiny bit of super glue to help hold as I'm careful as to how much of a crimp i can apply.

Thanks bula. Yes, several boxes, all with the factory seal. Really weird that all ten rds in that one box were long, while all other boxes were correct. Oh well, just a mistake, and it occurred several years ago, as I’ve had them that long. So, note to self, “get over it Skip”, LOL Best, Skip

Oh, and the shot capsules are the same length. They got seated to a longer length due to some kind a error. Call CCI.

Similar but different. I had a few rounds of 44 special in a bulldog and when I went to take them out of the cylinder for storing they pulled slightly. I could push the shot capsule back down by hand easily so maybe yours got jostled before you purchased and the caps slid out a bit. It would be odd that they all slid the same amount though.

I recently loaded up a full cylinder in my shorty barrel Vaquero 44spl and killed a rat. About 3-4 of the shells left in the gun locked up the gun because the capsules jumped crimp....tremendous recoil, lol I guess Ill reseat them and super glue them.
