Some of you may have seen photos I posted of a very similar build in a different flavor not too long ago. Bowen built 5 shot .45 Colt adorned with the most outstanding musk ox grips I've ever seen from Rob Rowan. Like the other this one will handle "Ruger only" .45 colt loads with no problem. There's something about that Muskox Horn. I might have to try to get my hands on some. The Prehistoric lookin Beasts live just up the road from me, I've seen em. I've seen horns for sale at the Fish and Game fur sale but just a box of small ones. The University here has a Muskox Farm where they raise and study them. hmmmm

Those are the nicest horn grips I've seen.
I think you made the right call on which cylinder to flute.

Nice Pair! are those fishpaws on the blue gun? Those are from Rob too. The color is off in the photo. They're bighorn but they are much more of a "straw" color with the red streaks. More of what you might associate with dall horn. |

A 5 shot 45 Colt is about the last hole I see in my safe. Sure there gaps for 38-40 and 38/357 but the 45 is what I feel is missing.

There's some more light colored grips on a stainless revolver! I sure do love that look. Of course, the fact it is a masterpiece doesn't hurt!
