So the 3.5” barrel and the round butt are factory? It is a beauty!

Anyone have one that short? Yup! I've shot it a fair amount with the 45 Colt cyl (up to 320s at a chronoed 1,100 fps). It currently wears the 45 ACP aux cyl which is a perfect match. Paul

That is a sexy little thing. I’m not a big fan of engraving but I really like that one.

To me, the engraving made the FA "ad" look like a billboard. I've never noticed it before.

Paul: How would you compare it to SW69? I know they're very different; but if you were going hiking out in the woods, which would you take and why?

I am tempted . Have almost purchased this model( without the scratches) a few times. What is giving me pause is how sights are kicked so far left in half the pics then they are even in the rest. The sight screw has a fresh booger also.

Thanks for your insight Paul!
I'm afraid I'm at that horrible point where I have enough guns that I have almost every conceivable "need" covered. I'm squarely at the "want" not "need" point and it is a lot harder for me to justify wants. But... one of these days I want a top notch single action.

They aren't getting any cheaper. 8 years ago, it wasn't that hard to find a used Model 97 for $1200-$1300. Now, $1700 looks like a great deal. The longer you wait, the more you will pay. Unless you get lucky. That is always nice, too.

You're right. I keep checking and watching for 97s and scoping out some customs on gunbroker. One of these days, i'll snag one.

Before the M69s came out, I carried the 4 1/4" 45 Colt M97 quite a bit. Put over 25,000 rnds thru it over several years. At that time if I could only have one, it would have been it. With the government creating money out of thin air, you can bet guns will get more expensive as time passes. I say go for what tickles your fancy at the moment - two years from know you won't miss the money. Paul
