Well....my buddy suggested we go and check his hog trap yesterday. So, we ride in for a good ways on the side by side to get to the trap. There were 9 hogs in there. Two had committed sooieeeecide. 5 of the other 7 got lead poisoning. I took my ex mother in law to help. She uglied to death the meat hogs and tore up the meat so bad it was inedible. I swear she tainted then too.
We had a couple of 22’s and I had my 44 Special. The special was loaded with Matt’s 275 grain HPGC. I had 17 grains of H4227 pushing that bullet. I suspect a velocity of 950-1050 fps. The impact of this load was tremendous. These were 25 to 100 pound pigs. Of course the small ones just flopped over. I shot one a little back and it fell over. It wasn’t dead but it was immobilized. It died quickly. The others showed similar signs when hit. I wasn’t able to perform a necropsy on any of the pigs. I intend to make a closer examination on the performance of this load as soon as I get my own hog trap up and going.
I do have some pics of someone can help me post!

Your ex-MIL reminds me of my ex-wife! Sounds as if y'all did pretty good with the hog trap.

You need a picture host site, like IMGUR. You post your pics there, then move them over here. You cant post pics directly to this forum.

6 Billion more to go. Good job trapping to your buddy, good on you for the dispatch. I took 9 out of traps this last week. All but one were slaughtered for people who need it. The one had mange and I wasn't going to touch that one.

They’re getting cocky around here; it is not unusual to see them out on the daylight lately. I’ve been taking to the creeks and stepping up on them but there are too many for one guy. Your method sounds a bit more efficient.

They don't dare show themselves in daylight around me, at any time for any reason. Even at night they check under their mud hole to make sure I am not there. LOL.
