Forgot to post this. Being in Caliunicornia, we're not able to purchase a Shadow 2 unless it's at a 30-50% premium through a PPTransfer, but luckily CGW is there to rescue (for now ).
I currently have a 97B in their (CGW) queue for the FULL works, but we'll see how things progress after things settle back down.
Here are the SPECS:
Complete NP3+ refinish including all internals and one magazine 10x barrel bushing Stainless steel guide rod Cajun Pro Package Shadow SP-01 Mag catch Shadow SP-01 Extended Safety Dawson Front F/O LPA TPU57CZ07 Adjustable Rear Sight (Dawson adjustable F/O rear added - In case I dislike the overhang on target sights and potential hammer bite on de-cocking which is very negligible amongst reviews it seems) Recent Range note: The rear sight IS negligible in slide/hammer work, and given that this is more of a range toy, the the slick NP3+, while very durable, is more of a constraint, even though it's also negligible. Although it's worth noting, still, that the future 97 project will have a milled sight.
Nevertheless, here's the gun porn:
Took it and my DW PM7 (another on roster CA handgun) to the range just before lock down Thought I would need to sight-in the rear sight but apparently CGW did it already, or I got lucky. Top is CGW SP-01 and bottom is PM7 @20yrds. First shot DA and the rest SA.

No CZ experience, so mind blank 1st impression(friends would say, no really his mind is blank !) Mechanical, machined. Not a bad thing or anything. Pretty is as pretty does, and those targets look 'HOSED" ! Nice.

Thanks, fellas. It really is a joy to shoot. A couple notes: 1) The rumors are true that NP3+ (or NP3) is slick -- and if you run a bit too wet it's greased goose shit, so it's imperative to really wipe down the outside once the inside is minimally lubed (because it's self-lubing to a degree). Glad that this is just a range toy as it really is like racking a teflon coated frying pan at times; because that's essentially what it is! If this was a compact for CCW, I would consider NP3+ for the frame (with internals) and keep the OEM finish on the slide/controls, or chose among all the available black coat options (DLC, Nitride, etc.), then have the barrel done in NP3+, too. All controls left OEM or done in the same black coating chosen for the slide. Then consider an aggressive set of stocks. This would still allow for a very easy-to-clean weapon, which leads me to #2: 2) On that note, the rumors are also true for cleaning! Aside from typical barrel cleaning, pressurized can of Rem-oil (or whatever you prefer), a wipe-down with a cloth and a couple Q-tips in the crevices, and you're back to pristine before your morning coffee is brewed. Now, how to finish my upcoming 97B"E" project?

Did your gunsmith purchase the rights to the NP3 process from from Robar when they closed shop?

That’s an impressive result. I like the appearance of the NP3 finish. Looks to be a great shooter! -Bill

NP3+ certainly has a nice raw titanium alloy color. Those colors in the photos are representative of what you see in real life.
There’s what? A dozen+ finishes out there to include about six “proprietary” finishes? Armorlube seems to be the latest to draw attention. Lots of debate on what’s what in terms of durability, coefficient of friction, etc. It’s hard to keep track, and eventually you have to come to the understanding that most of the modern finishing options are more than capable of delivering what you need. NP3+ certainly isn’t the most durable, but for my applications it’s just fine in a range toy.
I’ve got another CZ project in the works with Cajun, at least I’m in the queue unless this C19 mess scratches that for financial reasons... Although I’d happily do NP3+ again I’m looking at other options just to keep it interesting. Thinking reverse two tone with DLC and Hard Chrome. Possibly try this new armorlube.

Almost had a 69 done in np3+.
Which finishes are more durable?

Hard chrome if you want silver
I’ve also read limited discussion on Chromium Nitride being the toughest, but the information is limited, and not sure who offers that service. Plus I’ve read the process really heats the parts to >1000F, but could be wrong.
If you want black there’s DLC and Armorlube.

Ok. Thanks! For some reason i always figured hard chrome would eventually peel off like it does on some tire rims.

Craig here loves hard chrome. He’s got a couple done with it and has pics around here somewhere.
