Went hunting last weekend and got a 80lb sow with my Bisley 44 Mag, shooting 325 gr WFNGC at 1320 fps. Alan Harton did a great job on the trigger. I was hunting at a friends land (48 acres).I got on stand and at 9:30 am a group of 15 hogs came into the corn feeder, the shot was 40 yards thru the shoulders and the hog hit the ground hard and rolled around a little then scooted (front shoulders broken) 30 yards into the thick brush.I went in and put a finishing shot in the head with my Reeder 475 Linebaugh Maximum-425 gr LFNGC at 1420 fps.Pic shows it all . 475480 are you shore you had enough gun? That's almost as bad as the cotton tail rabbit or the fox squirrel I got with my 500 Linebaugh.

I am glad you are man enough to pull the trigger on that Reeder! No thank you! I figure if my 475 at 1100fps will not kill it then I really need a armored vehicle to hunt with!
Nice hog though, as long as they are not on YOUR property they look like a lot of fun to hunt...

I shot a wild hog in the head once as a finisher. I used a 22 lr mark II.
A quick calculation shows that your finishing shot was in the neighborhood of 1100% more lead than mine.
I love being a Texan. Looks like Sean does too.
Good show.

I will make it back to Texas to finish my "all arsenal" of hog kills some time in the future. I took my handgun hog with a 357 S&W something or the other (I think it was my 686)

Texas is so much fun to hunt, I love going there. You were lucky, if that had been a 90 pounder or maybe 100+ they might never have found your body! ;D. Took this one in the San Antonio area last year, I weigh 275, he goes 300+ but he might be better looking than me. One shot behind the ear, you can see the white spot, thats the entrance hole, it exited his lower left jaw, gun was my OM Ruger 41 shortie using a 230 gr Keith slug at 1325 fps. Dick

That is a nice wild hog. Out of curiosity, what state was it taken in?

Bigbore, if you're talking about my hog it was taken in Texas & it should have read 200+ lbs. Took 2 others with the knife. I sure wish I wasn't shown as being FEMALE!! ;D
