My luck was running good when I got my 686 Pro back from the mothership all on SW's dime. I asked for a smooth under 3 lbs. SA and under 8 lbs. DA. I said I would pay for an action job if required. I got exactly what I asked for; Silky smooth. 3 lbs and 8. No charge.
It may be the best DA pull of any I own or have shot. My advice is to it send it in before shoving it down the road.
My luck has not run so good with the last 2 New guns I got from Ruger or their CS. I still keep trying, but they are burning my loyalty at both ends.

I was unaware of the Short Cylinder issue on the N Frame, .357s Thanks for telling me, As far as 8 rounds go, When you throw them into a speed loader , and if it does not compromise the strength , i like it it, You are now in a very close proximity to the 1911 as far as fire power, And with the added range of the .357. Funny, though, my Single 7 in .327 Seems weird, i would rather have 6 than 7, and true in the GP100 too. No logic to it, its just a strange feeling that you should pay for a 7 shooter with 3 dollar bills...

Don Knots in "Shakiest Gun In The West". Bad guy fall over and says "Ah seven shooter?" Like Captain Kirk's communicator and now we have cell phones. Totally off topic, sorry for the drift.

After trying it in the lgs, I had one special run SW 629 5" pc vcomp sent to gunsmith for a trigger job even before i took possession. An xframe SW Bone Collector .460 had a great trigger; but the hammer rubbed against the frame resulting in light strikes.
In both cases, I would have hoped for better from the PC. In both cases, they are still great revolvers with very minor work.

I like the new Performance Center 686s with the vent rib barrel. But I doubt I’ll ever get one, I don’t shoot much 357 and already have a decent pile of Smith 357s that I never shoot.

Like that 686pc with vent rib. If I get rid of a couple other guns, I'll buy one.

I’m not one to hold a performance center gun over any out of the box S&W. I have heard many bad and many good stories. My own personal experience with a PC gun is good however. I own a 10 inch 500 mag. I got this thing for a good deal and I was thinking I could flip it pretty easy or at least break even on a trade. The problem with getting rid of it is it flat out shoots. The single action trigger is so good you don’t have time to flinch. It is better than many other of my factory smiths and I never had to touch the sights. Shoots perfect point of aim with a 350 gr bullet

Maybe not you, but everybody else around you at the range is going to develop a flinch when you light that off.
There , I said it.

I watched a few guys at an outdoor range with one of those, They were all daring each other to shoot it ! However, i shot a 4 inch with reduced hand loads. And it was Fun !
