Here's something a little different for the forum. A buddy of mine has a couple of Fightlite SCR lowers and asked if I wanted to buy one. I told him it could be a fun project and since he already had a 20" Odin Works 6.5 Grendel Barrel, I went with that as my foundation for the top half of the carbine. I ordered a slick-sided upper from FightLite, an extra long UTG slim handguard, CZ Scorpion sights, an ambi mag release, and ladder rails for the empty picatinny slots. I already had the Scout scope, rings and BattleComp. It all came together in a slim trim package that has already shown some promising accuracy from 0-200yds. It has become a 2020 Long Scout... It balances right in front of the magazine and is as comfortable as a Win94 to carry in the hand. Stump PS: I'll be the first to admit it as ugly as a modern space gun gets, but as a utility arm... it should work for 90% of what I'd require of it while walking/riding through the woods here in the occupied zone. ETA: Final configuration after the latchless charging handle and curved hand stop installed (load development now in the works)...

Where is the buffer tube? The angle looks like it doesn't have one, so how would the bcg cycle?

I have to say, I could totally get behind that look (pun intended). I liked it so much that I immediately went to their website to see what I could order and how much. I even had my credit card out till I saw 659 dollars! Very cool idea and well executed; I would even have 4 or 5 myself, but not at 659 bucks. You executed your project well. I really do like your rifle.

It's pretty slick and a soft shooter. Thanks x101airborne, try and find a used lower if you can.. it'll save you a few bucks.

Ugly is as ugly does and I like that kind of ugly. I also like Studebakers and A-10s so I'm not sure if that's a ringing endorsement or not... If I could get into a receiver set cheap enough, that could be a super fun .300 project!

I have a very hard time with AR platform rifles, though I am working on it. Yours looks like the perfect platform for a guy who wants the traditional rifle concept on a more modern rifle mode of function. Well done. I would like to try one before buying.

I have an older Remington semi-automatic that I love and wont sell to save my soul. I would love to get into something similar without the pistol grip of an AR. Will have to wait and see I guess.

Good thinking, Stump! I kind of dig the steampunk vibe...
