Colt Bisley project

Well the 1910 Bisley showed up. It is as good if not better than I expected. Numbers match except for the loading gate. It has been converted to 44 spl and the barrel caliber stamped. Put a Belt Mountain #5 base pin in it. I have a Bowen dovetail front about half contoured. They come pretty square so I rounded the edges. Still need to do some final rounding and cut a blade slot. May go with a brass blade. As you can see I need to clean up where the old sight was. Picked up a USFA SAA trigger guard and still may try to number 5 it.

Wow ! Nice project. I wish I had the talent and tools to try something like that. I bet that it is going to make a great target shooter. May as well do some tasteful engraving before the re-finish.

Base is 90% contoured. Made a brass blade for it. Thinned it at the top. May have the top strap opened but hate to do anything permanent in case I want to restore it. Cleaned up where the old sight was and touched it up with blue magic. Coming together nicely. May try to get to the range in the next day or two.
