I did this one myself. It started as a Accusport 44 Magnum. It's still a work in progress but I have. Polished the insides it's smooth and has a 2LB 1 OZ trigger Free spin paw mod BeltMountain base pin Jim Stroh - Alpha Precision front sight Bowin target rear sight Double round butted grip frame Homemade buffalo horn grips (that are shrinking) Lettering removed from barrel Cylinder roll-marks removed Grey scotch bright finish Factory trigger return spring reshaped Cylinder throats polished till a .431 bullet fits snug Forcing cone polished Barrel hand lapped to remove thread choke and smoothed The base pin and sights are all I have spent cash on, not counting the *+% $#@% buffalo horn for the grips.

How does one remove the rollmarks from the cylinder? It seems like that might have to go a little deeper than I'd be comfortable with.

salvo - she will put em just a smidgen under 2" at 25 yards when the light is right.
timothy - her working load is a bunch of H-110 under a 320gr LFN-GC and for a plinking load I use a lee 200gr RN-PB and HS-6. The lee is a 6 banger mold and don't use much lead, fast, easy, and cheep.
txtad - Power tools to spin, files to cut metal, sandpaper to smooth, and scotch bright to finish. The bottom of the roll mark is the week spot where its at so I didn't remove much if any metal from there. The bolt cuts are much thinner than the outside of the cylinder over the chambers anyway and are the chamber wall between the cylinders.

I believe the 44 AcuSports were the rarest. Very nice!

Very nicely done! I enjoy the "homebuilt" as much as the works of art from the big boys. One of these days I hope to have my own "homebuilt" to show off.

Texasfivegun,
I was not aware that the removing the roll marks, and the safety BS could be done at home.
Sure looks better without all that than mine does with it.
