Oh no.... Now they just need to do the 480 Ruger again and all will be right in the world.
This is something I always searched for, so hopefully the prices aren't too bad once t hey're released, if this is true of course.

yep... even though I'm selling a lot of my guns right now... a 480 lever gun would definitely be 1st on my short list to buy
I do kinda like the looks of the blued guns, with the gold color barrel bands, lever, hammer & butt plate... wonder what they are using to color them, & the durability of finish on those parts

A 480 Rossi 92 is on my want list too. I already have two 454s and they are great rifles.

Will the .454s take a longer loaded round than the .45Colt?

Mine seems to be sensitive to OAL and bullet shape. 240 gr Hornady XTP's worked fine, but Missouri Bullet Company 300 gr coated (HT-452300M) did not feed even when crimped on the frontmost groove. It's like the round is entering at too steep an angle (which is something you can't really change).
Other than that a neat gun with no real purpose (like 90% of what I own).

I've had one for several years. OAL and nose profile need to be sorted out. 335 and 360gr Cast Performance LFNs work great. 355gr wfns in full lenth 454 brass no go. I now have a 340gr lfn mould and no prob with it either. 340gr at 17-1800fps. 425gr at 1450ish. I've worked over the action and it's a smooth as can be. Great gun I think. I call it my Baby 45-70. Shoots light 45 Colt loads for a lot of fun. I casted a bunch of 425gr .458 boolits, swaged em down, worked up this load. I think I could go hotter but this should poke a hole in a bear.

GROO HERE Remember the 454 was built around the 240/260gr bullet. Bullet length can be a problem in modern thicker cases. A 340 hard cast solid is about the limit if new cases and tight chambers[FA 83] are combined. The new brass will not even hold some of the old loads . You would think the PSI is being controled by volume.........

The best thing to do is make a saved search on gunbroker. A lot of savvy dealers will post new arrivals on there because the first ones always fetch more money than retail. That’s what I do to tell when a product is actually released
