Thats horrible! Bundle them all up and send them to me... I'll take care of those awful old (and new) unattractive sixguns for ya! If ya can't ship 'em all at once, just send me the 357... that will do for now. Seriously... nice shootin stock. I like the flattops. Good stuff.

That shorty looks brand new...has it been refinished at some point?

That shorty looks brand new...has it been refinished at some point? No Zues, IMO I don't think it has. The photo probably makes it look better than it is. But it's a pretty clean 1960 model. Axehandle started a very good thread a few weeks back about recognizing refinished guns. I learned a lot about my O.M's there, especially a too good to be true .45.

Yes it is a pic, and apparently your first.

Good first run.... Personally I do like the extra detail that can be seen in individual shots.... FWIW on the refinished guns... Don't let even an obvious refinish discourage you from acquiring a solid appropriately priced shooter... The danger is paying collector prices for refinished guns.... If you followed my thread here and went to the Ruger Forum for more detail you know that the whole thing can be a bucket of worms...

Thanks axe for the photo suggestion. I did read your thread on the Ruger forum And I think here's another worm for the can. A blued breech face, a good indication a reblue. But notice it has never been machined, that would normally remove first time blue. So that was very confusing. Then IMO the frame, & numbers show crisp clean lines. No pulling of the screw holes whatsoever. But then, the obvious, a front sight remount that I hadn't really noticed. I paid a shooter price for this one bout 20 years ago, and I'm ok with it. Kinda hijacked my own thread I guess, but more photos for suggestions on my so called photography. These are among the fisrt group of photos I have ever taken with a digital camera. gunzo

The extent of my photo tricks are natural light out of direct sun and using the macro zoom on those closeup shots... There are guys here with much more knowledge and skill...
Don't know how scarce original barrels are but IMHO that 45 is worth looking for another barrel.... I'd call Ruger to verify 7.5 or 4 5/8 and put some feelers out...

The truth be known.. There are more than toes.... There are two black cats that stay close and soak up light like nothing I have seen!
