Well, Thanks to your post I do now! Amazing and sad story. Nice looking little pistol there.

I've been lucky enough to know several genius types in my life. their lives had a lot in common with Mr. Kelsey's, minus the ending.

I have had several devel's over the years. Nice guns. sold them and then picked up four sets of devel followers and springs for 1911 mags and they work great too. Bill

What a creepy ending to an interesting gentleman.
If I'm reading correctly between the lines, I have a clear idea of which company stole his designs. That Devel looks like the blueprint for my 5906. Neat pistol! -- Brian

That gun looks like a 6906. Highly modified. Wish my 6906 looked like that.

This one is built on a 39-2 single stack. I had one that was built on a Model 59 double stack a couple years ago. The 469 669 and all the other compacts offered by S&W is what killed the custom market for the "chopped" SW autos.

Yep, I never could afford an ASP, but got the first 669 I could get my hands on. That's the one I kept in my briefcase back in the late '80s and early '90s before I got into LE. Never really liked the 669, however, and sold it to buy my first G23 c. '93.

As I was reading it, it was reminding me of something and I couldnt quite put my finger on it. That was until he told the part about worrying that the FBI was wire tapping him. Did anyone see the movie A Beautiful Mind. Not that Kelsey had paranoid schizophrenia but there does seem to be similarities.
