Like our friend Axe I made a grab before year end on my birthday, the 29th actually. A local pawn shop had this P'd & R'd M629 along with a Horton M624. I have the same Horton so opted for the 629. Plus it will pair up nicely with my 4" P'd & R'd 629. It came with the original grips but I prefer the feel of these Herretts that I picked up from CDNN. Plan to run it tomorow as I head East the day after. Anyone else make an end of the year grab?

Boxhead, I think you lead a charmed life! I did manage to locate a few in the last week. Bought an OM 357 & an OM 44 that I previously owned, I was glad to get it back. One of my son's gave me a 3 screw 44 & one of the other boys gave me an unfired, nickel model 36 snubbie. Sorry this photo is very good. Haven't taken a photo of the 357 yet. Dick

And the front sight? Nice stuff Dick. I can only hope that my boys consider "Pop's" as yours do when they are on their own.

Axe, yes its a XR3 Red grip frame, the gun has been professionally flattopped, mirco sight added, the front sight base has been re-contoured & it has that high gloss blue of the old guns, yes I will keep it this time.....no, I won't send it to the black hole! I am going to sell the ivory micarta stocks & replace them with a set of my own. Boxhead, I think when your kids finish college they will remember who gave them their passion for guns/shooting. Dick

Heres my last guns of the year. Consecutive pair of 44 Mag. El Dorado's. Hated to break the set, so brought them both home.

Hay Dick, if you don't want to send it to the black whole, you can send it about 65 miles northeast of the Alabama black whole. It will be safe here. Bill
