I recently put in an order for some custom CNC'd brass for a .257 wildcat and have not been surprised to see so many that others that are close performers, such as the .257 Jackrabbit and 6.35x26mmSR Stewart aka 250 ALR (which is the same as the .251 TCR), 250 GNR, etc.
I was thinking it might help us all out in our pursuits to compile load data, case volume (preferably in grains of H20) and comments in this thread. I'm happy to post what I've gleaned from existing threads on here, but I don't want to step on any toes by posting other's data before they have a chance to do it themselves.
I submit that a good format would be the following; Cartridge Name Cartridge dimensional description/volume Firearm used in testing, including barrel length Load data/velocity and pressure if available Comments
I hope a new guy showing up here and suggesting this doesn't offend anyone, but this group looks to be very welcoming and knowlegable.

You could start by telling us something about your cartridge. Always ready to hear about a good idea.

Hahaha I can't say it's a good idea, as all those have already been taken. It is a little bit different though. Essentially a 22 WMR length 25 ACP using .257 bullets.
The idea was to have a cartridge that could be used in as many readily available platforms as possible (single actions, double actions without needing moonclips, bolt actions, etc) while filling a particular performance niche (an improved/more flexible 22 WMR).
The unique requirements led to the custom brass ($6.50 a piece for the first 100) but it allows me to not have to make very many compromises. The reamer and dies will be made off of the virgin brass. A CZ 452 will likely be the first gun I convert followed by a Bearcat.

Along with all my other projects we have another version we are considering calling the .257 Jackrabbit II using the 30 carbine Case necked down and blown out straight with a neck long enough for the upcoming 73 grain Miha .257 bullet.

Sounds like a worthy pursuit!
Well how about it? It would be great to have someone with so much experience both in bench testing and field testing post the first info...

Have multiple Single Six based guns in 25-20, 256 Win Mag and 250 GNR. All are simply excellent guns.
