Took my oldest son fishing this morning. Nasty weather. Sixty degrees, blowing mist, in a canoe. Wild shiners are better than domestic, 21 bucks a dozen. All we did was feed the birds. Normally if you don't catch a fish it's because you didn't bring a rod. It's called Lake Lotsabass if you want to go there. GPS coordinates are North BR549 and West OU812. See you there.

Googled, can't find a recipe ! Well,if they taste like any of the fish ducks, nevermind. Turduckhen going in the oven in a few minutes , could make it turduckhenprey ? Gotta add a big L O L here, just in case somebodies sense of humor is still asleep.

We picked up the wild shiners Monday night. If you've never fished with wild shiners the difference between wild and domestic is domestic shiners toodle around looking for their next meal. Wild shiners haul butt knowing they might BE the next meal. Night and day difference, twice the price. On our way home from the bait store a few jumped up and knocked top off the bucket and flipped out. Got 'em all back in (so we thought). That was Monday. Today my truck smelled and I thought it was the shiner water on the carpet so I left the doors open and it got up to 78. Went to the truck a few minutes ago and about threw up. Grabbed the flashlight. Well lookie here!

Had to chuckle,.....many a time when I was younger. We’d go to the coast and go fishing, bait shrimp went in the ice chest, and after a long weekend of fishing early and late into the night. You make the 3 hour drive home tired and decide to unpack in the morning. Only to realize your bait has been cooking in your ice chest. Many an ice chest was simply tossed into trash.

Am laughing too. Recall working 2nd shift then driving thru the night to get to Assateague to surf fish all day. A short sleep Sat night and a funday Sunday and another long drive. Funky stuff found in the truck.

Being a life long fisherman, I can certainly relate. If I had to rank a "worst smelling" rotten bait it would be eels. Many a late night fishing sessions on the East coast with eels for Stipers ended up being a long day looking for the mysterious smell in your vehicle. Worst thing about eels is they can get anywhere if they escape and usually squirm into the farthest recesses of your ride and then die. The smell is indescribable.
