I like it too, and think the flutes really add some class.

I have often wondered what a shortened SRH would look like with a 5" barrel and the front sight mounted just like that.
And like others have said, I think the fluting is perfect. I wonder if fluting the cylinders would match up well with the barrel fluting or make it too busy looking and detract from the overall stylish good looks of this piece...
I love it! Really, really love it!

The more I look at it, cylinder flutes like some of the old Merwin, Hulberts had would really look cool.

That is sharp looking. I really like the flutes as well. Dang, all these guys getting 500L SRH to play with. Making me jealous. I can't keep up! Took me this long to get a .475 BFR...
Well, there goes the tax refund.....

Well, there goes the tax refund..... I had my .475 for a couple years before I got the .500 -- be patient! There is nothing on the face of this earth that the .475 (properly loaded of course) cannot take. Thanks again for the compliments, folks!

Whitworth, I only have one thing to say new SRH, WOW. That's something special. Let's hear some more about your ammo. Bill

Well, I managed to weigh (on a digital scale in our mailroom) the .500 alongside my 6-inch M29 -- the S&W came in at 2.96-lbs, and the SRH came in at 2.94-lbs -- explains the recoil! ;D

That is a nice looking SRH! Makes me wish I held on to my 454 as a builder. What 525gr bullet are you using? Bill
