What frame size do FA 97 compare to? Ruger single six possibly?? I have never seen one physically...I have owned 83's before...Thanks for your help! PS thinking a .327 4.25 or 5.5 inch bbl

I'd guesstimate between Single Six and Flattop Midframe.

That about how I’d call it too. Left gun is a NM Single Six in 327 Fed Mag with 4-1/4” S&W K-22 barrel by Bowen. Center is FA 97 in 327 Fed Mag with 4-1/4” barrel. Grip frame reshaped and made 2 piece by Bowen with grips by Roy Fishpaw. Right gun is NM Flat Top mid-frame in 5-shot 45 Colt with 4-5/8” barrel by Bowen. Shadows in the pic are a bit deceiving, plus it has an oversized cylinder. It’s not much larger than the FA. I’d have to look up the grips on the outside guns - can’t recall who/what they are. Tim

You will like the .327 in a 97...no recoil at all even with "heavy" loads.
A friend has the same gun as princeout. Was a .32 H&R and .32-20 that was a friend of his... When my friend bought the gun he sent it to FA to have a .327 cylinder added.
I've got one with a custom length 6.5" barrel. I had been trying to decide which Single-Seven to buy, a 5.5 or a 7.5 when this one came up for sale... As Goldie Locks says...it was just right...
