The other one for $1000 has a 10” barrel and the removable pin. I’ve been emailing them today. If anyone wants a picture of the pin, send me a pm with your cell number. I’m passing on it.

Just bought the $800.00 one. Wife said to go ahead on it. The bad thing or maybe good thing is that I bought a 6” Mod 83 454 with a 45 Colt cyl that came in on Wednesday for $1300.00 and I thought it was a deal too. Maybe I’ll shoot both at same time.👍 ***** Both your Model 83 buys are good deals. For .45 Colt loads in the 10”, I would DEEP SEAT in .454 Casual brass and, depending on bullet type, roll crimp on ogive or .060” above front band. To load in .454 brass saves cleaning before chambering .454 Casull loads. David Bradshaw

MY MODEL 83's USING 45 COLT CYLINDERS ARE ALL VERY ACCURATE AND WITH DUAL CANNELURED BULLETS YOU CAN SEAT THE BULLETS OUT AND EQUAL 454 BALLISTICS. MODEL 83's WITH 45 COLT CYLINDERS AND 454 EQUIVALENT HANDLOADS WERE MY PRIMARY HUNTING GUNS ON 7 OR 8 OF MY 11 HANDGUN AFRICAN SAFARIS. ONLY ISSUE I HAVE WITH THEM IS THAT THE 45 COLT CYLINDERS ARE LOOSELY CHAMBERED, SO FOR HUNTING I ONLY USED VIRGIN WW BRASS. YOU COULD NOT RESIZE THE 1X BRASS ENUFF TO GET THEM TO FIT IN TIGHTLY CHAMBERED 45 COLTS, SUCH AS SOME CUSTOMS I HAVE BY LINEBAUGH AND JRH. NOW I JUST USE THE 454 CYLINDERS, HAVING PROVED MANY TIMES OVER THAT I COULD DO WITH A 45 COLT ANYTHING A 454 COULD DO.

Love this idea, David. Any reason not to apply to all Specials/Magnums?

Bad thing about the firing pin replacement is, they will ONLY ship it back to you UPS overnight. And it's $90. They will not accept USPS for incoming, either. Can't remember if I was able to save by using FedEx on the incoming, or had to send UPS. It was an expensive deal. But, on the bright side, they didn't charge any labor. And, new extra parts are cheap. I think it was $13-14 for an extra spring and firing pin.

It’s always nice to pass on something when you’re not interested and have your “friends” benefit. Well done, Tinker,...well done.

I remember shipping an 83 357 Magnum back to them for the Action Job and it was about $200 +/- round trip. It was worth it to me, but it still hurt.
I saw this particular thread about as soon as Tinker posted it and thought I might need another 454, but I my FFL buddy packed up and moved a year or so back. It's saved me some money.
