Just been thinking it might be ideal for recoil sensitive shooters if Illinois would just allow it in rifles for deer hunting.
My young son and my wife could probably shoot it much better in a compact rifle than a 20 guage slug gun (even a good one).
Keep thinking about an AR pistol set up as a single shot (for deer) in 300 whisper / blackout or 350 legend as a dual purpose deer / defense option. Thoughts?

If "I" were going the single shot pistol route, I would go a contender and completely abandon the AR look. My youngest son has a H&R Handi Rifle in 300 Blackout, youth stock and 16 inch barrel. I put my suppressor on it for his first three deer at less than 100 yards. They didn't get any deader and he wasn't afraid of noise or recoil. I would think a 10 inch Contender or G2 (pistol version of course) would be the bees knees! My son doesn't know it, but when he goes to college I already have an adult length stock waiting for it. LOL. A 350 Legend would be a fun toy in the same configuration.

Loaded some .350 Legend for a friend after he got the dies and bullets.(355). 180 Win PP has a lot of lead exposed. at 1900-2100fps. it does a great job on whitetail deer. At least smaller deer. A state like Ohio that requires a straight wall cartrige, it may be lacking on those bigger deer/

Winchesters 180 gr offering meant for deer/hog/bear and a deeper penetrating choice than there lighter hunting bullet. This per their info and some field testing(not by me yet). Here in N E Ohio, farm land, river bottom bucks often still 200 lbs + after field dressing, yes, big. Camp mates snagged 350 Legends sooner than me, having good performance. They've dropped 3 Ohio deer and plan to hand off those lil carbines to our smaller hunters when in Penn..

Her first deer and the first deer taken with our 350 AR.

Awesome deer Harold89! Yea swaging the primer pockets sucks. Hodgon load data shows a OAL for the 180 PP that is substantialy shorter than the factory load. My co worker likes the round so far, especialy since he does not have to hunt for ammo during this fiassco of a year. My brother in-laws in Ohio jumped on the 450 Bushmaster early. My issue with either of those rifle cartriges is that that both take pistol diameter bullets, good for practice. But avalible jacketed hunting bullet selection is narrow. .355 (9mm) and 451 (45ACP). I guesss you could swage bullets down if you have the equipment. Just my 2 cents.....
