Finally commissioned a 10” 41 mag leupold dove tail scope mount sling stud Bisley. Watch out Wyoming antelope and mule deer next season! My brother moved out to Wyoming,so I’m gonna go full Beverly hillbilly! Gonna load up the truck and trailer! Prolly spend two months trapping yotes ,bobcat and hopefully pull tags for antelope and mule deer!

That ought to do the trick on those speed goats! Who is doing the build? I’ve been bouncing the idea around for a while. The Bisley was a accusport that harton removed the engraving on the cylinder. Then I sent to Reeder for a action job ,drill and tap for the leupold mount. I also had the barrel maxi- throated and deep dish crown and the cylinder chamber for the 356 gnr. I just could not warm up to that chambering and was going to sell it off, but it is such a pain in ny to sell a gun. I was just going to have the cylinder through bored to 41 but was told that the original 357 cylinder is short and would not be able to chamber the heavier bullets. Called one popular smith and let’s just say I was not feeling how I was treated. So I gave Reeder a call who will build a barrel and full size cylinder! Easy peasy! So short answer Reeder is building it! Lol

Sounds like a great project...and a definite antelope gun...
A question on the cylinder that is on the gun now... It is "too short"? As far as I know all the Ruger BH cylinders are the same length... I've had at least a dozen of them in .41 Magnum and all will take any bullet up to 300 grains quite easily... Or did Gary use a shorter cylinder when the gun was converted to .356 GNR? If so where did the original .41 cylinder go?

ps...Now that I am rereading your post it looks like the original gun was a .357 Magnum...still the cylinder should be the same length as a .41....

The 357 cylinders have a shorter actual cylinder and more barrel intrusion into the frame. The window is the same, just a slightly different configuration for the lawyers. This is, I’m sure, to prevent inserting a 44 or 45 cylinder into a 357.

The Original Bisley was chambered in 357 mag so it had the”short” cylinder. . Gary rechambered that cylinder to 356 gnr. I’m having him build a new cylinder in 41 mag to take the heavier - longer bullets. Should be fun! Any interest in the 356 gnr cylinder? It Is ,6 shot ss and unfluted. Should fit in any 357 barreled Blackhawk. Got the dies too. 41 mag case in the sizing die and poof you have a 356 gnr.
