I'm kinda 2nd thinking the custom BFR I'm commissioning for 2020... it'll have a 7.5" hex barrel... I'm wondering if it'll look "naked" without a front sight, particularly with the hex barrel??? it'll be an optics only "really" gun... so there is no need to add the weight of a front sight or the extra screw hole for the removed front sight... I've got several round Contender barrels & several rifles with no front sight... just 2nd thinking myself on the naked hex barrel...
Thoughts???

Not odd at all in my book. I just found an orphan FA 83 in 41 mag with a 10” octagon without any sights. Naked except for the Lovell mount waiting for me to stick on the Leupold optic.

magnumwheelman.... order an optic-specific revolver without the front sight. Round or octagon, the appearance is as clean as it gets. David Bradshaw

Having a Bisley ,10” barrel with over size cylinder built. It is wearing a optic ,but will have a front sight too.

Kings... got a picture of that "naked" octagon... reason I mentioned the Contenders & rifles was they were all round barrels... just never seen an octagon without a front sight

Doesn't look out of place at all once the scope goes on. I have a long barrel SBH drilled and tapped for a scope mount and I take the front sight off when the scope is on.
