The Vaquero was so tight the guide portion of the reamer would not enter until I lapped the area enough to let it enter. ***** James.... looks like this over-tightened barrel caused PLASTIC DEFORMATION----permanent compression ring (thread choke). In other words, complete or partial absence of springback. (Springback would mean elastic deformation.) Supports my belief that THREAD TIMING should be corrected before any other steps taken, including fire lapping. David Bradshaw
