James.... looks like this over-tightened barrel caused PLASTIC DEFORMATION----permanent compression ring (thread choke). In other words, complete or partial absence of springback. (Springback would mean elastic deformation.)
Supports my belief that THREAD TIMING should be corrected before any other steps taken, including fire lapping.
