Ever since I saw pcitures of John Taffin's 500 Linebaugh back in the late 80s/early 90s, I've always considered that to be the "classic" 500 look. Blued Bisley, 5.5" lugged barrel, and ivory or ivorex. Just plain perfect. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Beautiful! Lee and I have discussed that we have the same sentiment of the 500 of Mr. Taffin's. A Linebaugh gun is just a perfect example of a no nonsense working gun that can take anything that walks. I love them. I'm planning to send mine back up to John and have a cresent ejector installed and then have Dustin do the white micarta on my blued one also. Thanks for sharing the pictures, I love the looks of it! Is this a new build or an older gun that went in for a facelift? If its new, do you mind posting a picture of the inside of the loading gate for me if its relieved. Mine is not relieved and I really like the feel of the new ones that has been. I think that is one other thing that I'd like John to do while he has it Looking at your pictures.....I'm going to have to look at mine but I think that my gun has a screw in the top of the front sight base. I guess that may be something else that has changed. Beautiful sixgun Bloodhound. Thanks again. GS

I'd say that Lee summed it up pretty well. My 500 L has become my favorite piece.

Interesting, I have #165 built in 1996 and it doesn't have the loading gate relieved. Was that something that was done later

Talked with John yesterday and he will be in the neighborhood this weekend so I'll be meeting up with him to send my 500 back with him for a new set of stocks and a few other odd and ends while he has it. I'm going to go ahead and have him do the loading gate while he has it since he will be rebluing the gun anyway. Thanks again for the pictures.....GS

Bloodhound, looks exactly like mine except mine is 475. Ditto to all the above. John is a class act.
