I’ve been without a .22lr for a while till I located this Ruger. It looked like it had never been cleaned and had been kept in a tool box. So I cut the barrel back at the ejector, then removed the form letter from the Ruger legal department off the side of the barrel and removed all the scratches with some 600 grit paper. I think it looks like a proper sixgun. Now I have something for all the .22lr I have stashed away.

Nice! Good job saving that Single Six. The first gun that I bought new was a Stainless Single Six around 1979 or so. A little clean up with a maroon Scotch Bright pad makes it look brand new!

My stainless Single-Six sees more range time than any other gun I own. Hope you enjoy yours as much. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Good lookin' gun! How did you get the lettering off the barrel...chuck it in a lathe?

I used a draw file I got from Brownells to remove the warning label.

I like the grey scotch bright for the finish on my SS guns, it's not a corse as the maroon pads.

Good deal, I'll give the gray ones a try, the maroon ones are great once they start to wear out, new ones seem to coarse to me too.
