Went to Miami to visit my dear ole' Dad for his 80th birthday a while back. He knew I've always had my eye on his Python but no signs of it coming my way until he's gone. That was all OK by me because I got my love of "stuff" honestly and I knew he didn't want to turn it loose. He surprised me with telling me it was time for it to come home with me as a gift for my 56th. He had it magnaported and many of you (including him) know what I think about that. I have a replacement barrel but I've been thinking I may just leave it be 'cause that's the way "Dad wanted it". Here is me, my Dad and the snake.

Yes sir, I’d leave it too. I have a couple guns with features and engraving of names I plan on basically leaving alone for that exact reason. The memories and emotional value far exceeds the monetary value or the gist of modifying to match what I would have done.

When I first read the heading the image of Greg and his dad taking on one of the huge Florida pythons in a wrestling g match came to mind. I just thought “Poor snake!”😀

Now, THAT'S FUNNY!
Wouldn't be any wrestling.....
Thanks everyone! Dad's not been doing too well but he seems better than when I saw him last. Up and down I guess. He was glad to see us.
In fact, he's not doing too badly.... He called and asked me what I knew about Remington 76 rifles and where to get one. I had never heard of one.... Of course, like I said, the apple didn't fall far from the tree as they're expensive and scarce.
The gun will stay as is like many have suggested. It feels like it has had an action job or it has been buttery smoothe since he bought it. Really nice revolver.
Thanks Pops!

Glad to hear you are leaving it as is. You would regret changing it.

That's great! I'd only change it if I was planning to shoot it a bunch, and than only if it could be put back to how it is now.
