Very good acquisition. Any revolver lover would be thrilled to add that one to his collection...

Very nice revolver, old, and a little worn, it’s all character.

I see it has the newer short action. If I was going to shoot that caliber, that is the gun I would try to find. I think you made a wise choice. Congratulations on acquiring a great gun.

Thanks everyone... I thought it would go nicely with a 1952 Pre-27 6" that lettered to the day I was born... ...also have a Pre-17 that was also made in 1952... Took the HD out again today with some 230 grain Bowling Pin Loads... At 10 yards they were right on the money... Have to chrono the load one day to see what it is doing... It was a pleasure shooting them in this gun with the T-grip... Bob

Congratulations, those are hard to beat, especially with the grip adapter. Surprising how much difference they make.

Shot some more of the 230s this morning at 20 yards...four of the five in the group could almost be covered by my thumb...the one out was a couple inches low. I was pleased to see that all the holes in the target were perfectly wadcutter round as I was wondering if at that range would they start yawing...so far so good... And with these 230s the gun kicks just about like my 1917 with 230 Ball loads... If anyone is interested there is a clone to my gun on GunBroker right now is nicer condition for a starting bid of $699.00 It is a 1953 I believe.. www.gunbroker.com/item/816224523I am hoping one of you buy it so I am not tempted...these are really fine revolvers...

To the OP, congratulations and a belated happy birthday. I have a 4" HD from either '52 or '53. Has a very smooth but heavy factory trigger. Being a short action like yours it a nice comparison to the 1938 "long-action" 5" HD I also have.
