I didn't know about these until a couple of hours ago when I stopped into a local place with one on the wall: www.galleryofguns.com/genie/default.aspx?item=5760500Anyone here fooled around with one or know anything about them? Are they worth a hoot? What about the mags? Are they the Black Dog style or like the kind that came with my CMMG kit (which may be the same, IDK)? I'm a sucker for reasonably priced .22s, I don't have a dedicated .22 AR and the shop is having a 20% off sale which would put it in my hands for ~$300 OTD...

I have a 22 in HK mp5 it's a tac driver made bye wather never jams red dot is great addition. Iron sights had some problems. Gsg is awesome 1911 style with upgrades . Two friends use it with no problems. I really have no complaint about the German made guns. I will tell you use the ammo spec they say 1200 fps ammo you won't have a problem cheap 22 yes but my Ruger 10/22 has the same issues. Stay away from rem 22 hollow point golden bullets. We have had breach and hang fires in semi autos.

The CMMG AR 22 conversion I saw used the stock 556 (.224) barrel. I was not impressed. I've got a Tactical Solutions AR 22LR that is a work of art. Comes with Black Dog magazines. Buy the upper and install it on your AR with the trigger you like. Check out the S&W M&P-22. We have one on the range that you couldn't kill with a stick. Gun is lightweight and AR trigger parts fit. Impressed me so much I bought my own. Ideal for getting the young ones out shooting.

My CMMG conversion doesn't have spectacular accuracy (nor did I expect it to) but it works fine for my fun purposes. All I need to do is grab a .22LR barrel and I've already got everything else laying around to do an dedicated .22 upper.
