I check around every once in a while, as I always wanted to do a custom "whisper" type revolver based on the 30 carbine case, & the 8 shot moon clip Taurus 30S would be a natural for me to play with... this one rare enough & too much money... but someday I'll find one that's been shot enough to get into my price range... www.gunbroker.com/item/805078788

It is very interesting but there is no Taurus worth that kind of money to me.

... & I don't know who is fooling whom, but the 30 carbine cartridge in stock form would not likely be even remotely good for shooting silhouettes... I'd like to find one with a standard length barrel, for around $900.00 or a bit less

I have said this before. But those Raging series guns are something to be careful with. At the time I had my 480 no gunsmith wanted to mess with it or any Taurus for that matter so I sent it back under their lifetime warranty. They deemed the gun un repairable and destroyed it. Then they contacted me with that info and since the 480 was out of production they offered me the 2005 MSRP on the 480 towards the current MSRP of any revolver in stock. That made my 480 Raging Bull worth a "normal" 44 Mag.
