Got this in trade this week- a Colt New Pocket in .32 Long Colt. Came with the ammo box and 13 rounds even! Need to make a die for swaging heel-base .312 bullets and get proper reloading dies; brass can be resized from .32 S&W Long. Functionally the gun is fine; works as it should, locks up great. The single-action trigger is very good; the double action... well, it works at least. Like pretty much all of the early Colt DAs I've handled a light, smooth DA pull was obviously not a priority. This gun was made in 1904, and peoiple were still expected to fire their revolvers single-action; DA was for point-blank-range emergencies. This gun has had a hard life- there is approximately zero-percent of the original finish left, the barrel has a number of deep scratches in it, and the cylinder has been reblued... badly. I'm going to detail-strip the gun and see what I can do about the barrel-scratches, get it all nicely sanded to 320-grit, then rust-blue it. New grips will be needed as well. The 3-1/4" barrel looks OK, but a thorough scrubbing is needed before I can really asses that. Ah, a new project! Always good fun.

Looking forward to see what you do with it. I know from your previous posts I'll probably like it. Cool old revolver.

Nice, old six-guns are interesting.
