Very informative. I hope the Cerberus people burn in hell forever.

I can't access it. I've got it now on my laptop. The "gun enthusiasts" at Cerberus have certainly destroyed some gun companies.

Remington ruined themselves when they shilled out to push feed, rotating extractors and plunger ejectors. All to maximize profit. Big businesses , greedy executives ect. It greatly distressed me to see Ruger getting more and more involved with push feed rifles. It seems when a gun company starts fooling around with push feed bolt rifles that is tell tale sign that the end is nearing. Look at what happened to Winchester. They went to push feed in the Model 70 and not many years later they were belly up. Tho Ruger started the M77 line as push feed somehow they found their way to making the toughest bolt action that could be mass produced affordably. And pass the savings on to their customers. The M77 Mark 2 action. I feel bad for the employees that were lied to and cheated at Remington. And its sad I won't be able to buy Remington ammo. They did come out with some GREAT cartridges.

Blaming Remington's problems on push feed is a little off the mark. Your preference may be for CRF but for nearly fifty years the guns used to shoot the most dangerous animal, man, has been push feed, from the USMC M40 to the M1, M14, M16, and AK47. The problem at Remington is that a bunch of NY money guys bought it that try to make money for themselves and their stockholders at any cost to local economies and peoples lives. Our perception of their actions is jaded by our heritage of guns and our passion for guns. The same thing has been happening in the car business for even longer. Ask your classic car guy buddies. Corporate America only cares what the masses spend money on. Small alcoves of purists, such as us, have little influence in the scheme of things.

I remember hearing the CEO of the parent company on the radio just after they started buying up gun companies... "We will be able to better keep the costs down by having all the companies under one group"...and I was thinking then, this is NOT going to end well...
They do nothing but lie...it is all about the bottom lone not making quality guns....

The wall street types are just doing what they do, destroying everything they touch !

Well, hopefully there is some way for Remington to pull through. It would be a shame if a bunch of Wall Street sharks sinks a great American gun maker.

Unless someone has lived through this corporate bullshit it is hard to grasp. After the dealership I have been at since 1987 was bought by a corporation,we had a big meeting. EVERYTHING they told us on that day was a lie.

Running the business in NY for the first 160 or so years was fine. Running it in NY for the last 40+ years has been terrible, For Remington and every other business that left or is leaving the toxic business environment.

I don't think Remington can ever completely leave NY. If they do they'll be responsible for cleaning up 200 years of manufacturing mess in Ilion. .
