It's an old thread but this one answers the question for my Birdshead .45. I knew the Bisley hammer in a BH needed trimming but I was not sure about the birdshead. Ruger bisley hammer only fits the ruger bisley grip frame. All others require modification to fit bisley hammer. Very tough to find single six bisley hammers. Tough to find a blue standard bisley hammer.

Tough to find a blue standard bisley hammer. Yup, I outlined my recently bought hammer and will start it tomorrow. After aligning them with drill bit shanks, I used Dykem layout blue which stays better than marking pen.

"Finished" it tonight. Gads why doesn't Ruger offer Bisley or SRH wide spurs instead of the hammer they offer.
I wonder if anyone prefers that thin factory hammer?

If people preferred the thin hammer, then Ronnie Wells wouldn't be so far behind.
