I have an NEI 450gr SWC, LBT 400gr WFN, a couple Mountain Mould- moulds that I designed online. But this one casts the best and also shoots the best at any velocity out of my gun. Rob Applegate 435gr, the ogive is between a LFN and a WFN.

My two favorite 500's are both from LBT and both 440gr. A Keith and a Long Flat Nose Gas Check LFN-GC

cas, so finally some real bullets for the 500 L ;D I remember that Ross Seyfried said that the 500 will run out of steam (case volume) at a bullet weight of 470grs. To me the heavy 500-520 grainer appeals much more than a light weight bullet. Muskwa

1st) Ballisti cast 385gr LFNPB 2nd) NEI 420 gr LFNPB (weighs 430gr) 3rd) MM 435 gr WFNGC- 4th) NEI 450gr Keith (weighs 462gr) I shoot the 430gr NEI most and then the 435gr WFN when I take the Bowen SRH 500 L for backup on hogs. All the bullets shoot good in the Bowen 500 L. Sean

I do not know who cast them but the 450 gr SWCGC below shoots wonderfully in my gun. I received a couple hundred of them with the gun and need to figure out who's bullet it is so I an get more.

Maybe a CPB bullet? Very similiar to one of theirs I used to load in a 500 Smith Encore I had.

475480,
Who makes the 435 WFN-GC ? My buddy casts a 385 WFN-PB but it won't chamber in my Bowen 500. The profile is too blocky ahead of the crimp groove and gets hung up agains the chamber.

[/quote] I cast my own , the mould is a semi-custom from mountanimolds.com. I size them .511".

cas, so finally some real bullets for the 500 L ;D I remember that Ross Seyfried said that the 500 will run out of steam (case volume) at a bullet weight of 470grs. To me the heavy 500-520 grainer appeals much more than a light weight bullet. Muskwa I run them around 900-1000 FPS, they are REAL easy to shoot. The recoil is a big push rather than the punch of the faster lighter ones. Anyone who can shoot a decent heavy 44mag or Ruger 45Colt load can shoot them without any fuss. I honestly think these are easier to shoot than those two. For the first few years I shot monster loads, 465's at 1300-1350fps. Of course I needed to be at the top of my game to master them. I shot one animal with it, he was unimpressed. The heavy/slow stuff is more fun.
