Bearcat Dovetail Front sights

I am making a run of Bearcat dovetail fronts. These pretty much are halfway sold before I could even get the word out. I will also take preorders for Single Six and Vaquero dovetail fronts which will of course be scaled up versions of these. Contact me for details.
Here is the first one I roughed out to see what it was going to take to make these. I found out right away why nobody offers these. They truly are small and have to be cut very carefully.

Next I am working on how to best blank them out and a procedure to best cut them. I can take the blade to .100" if you like.

This is a little vise in the vise on my mill table. That's a roughing cutter. The finish cutter gets even closer.

These are products we really need. I've lost track of how many Ferminator Sights I've used.

My BFRs, Single 6,7,9s, and Bearcats are all better today because of efforts like this one.

What do you suppose the cost is to get the barrel dovetailed to fit the sight? If I were to approach a local machinist about this project, what are the dovetail specs so he could figure out if he had the correct tooling already or it may be an added cost. My Bearcat has the standard straight blade.

John Powers quoted 50 bucks to cut the dovetail but I’m not sure if that covers any additional work like reblue or other finish work.

As to your local guy, I should be able to cut it however he likes.

My dovetail cutter is a 60 degree angle.
