Sounds great, potatojudge. No steel? Thanks for the updates. We've discussed it and it seems likely down the road, but don't hold Ronnie to that. I think if he made carbon steel parts they would become standard on high end customs. Thanks, potatojudge. No pressure, Ronnie!

Have you made the trigger guard opening larger? Us large fingered folks need that desperately. We use sixguns year round even in the cold like this morning, it’s minus three. I’m convinced the Blackhawk trigger guard opening was made for a small child in July. It needs to be larger He has The way the programs are written it sounds like you pick from the following, and the components are put together digitally then milled to your specs (you can see A) why the website would take forever and B) how many of these will be made to order): OM vs NM grip profile trigger guard profile hammer cutout (standard vs bisley) trigger cutout brass or aluminum Say you want a No 5 grip frame in aluminum with an enlarged trigger guard, wide trigger, and SBH hammer cutout for an OM- that's what gets made. HOLY COW!!! Brassie NM #5 with Bisley hammer!!! Put me in, Coach!!!

Hey Guys Thanks for the kind words! I apologise for not getting on the forum much lately but it has been due to the fact that i am crowding every hour 7 days a week to bring this to Fruition! I love Bisley Hammers, I love Bisley triggers, and there are only a few things on this earth that i think are more sexy than a single action revolver! Maybe has something to do with being a 23rd generation american and possibly my birthplace! Cochise County Arizona. Tombstone! I found an old colt SAA missing grip panels in a wash out within sight of allen street in 1968 while my grandpa was working cattle! Been in love withem eversince! Still Have it. We (Grandpa a Rancher and gun smith) cleaned it up, whittled some rosewood out and let her eat. What i have done here is taking back to the late eighties when i realised that Mr colt ( the awsome stud by the way) must have been about five feet tall and had very small fingers! I myself have a Fat set of paws with a size sixteen wedding ring finger! I have made so many different combinations over the years and met so many great people of all shapes and sizes that i know one size does NOT fit all. So when i started seeing these blogs and forums with complaints, and preferences i started counting all the shapes and sizes of my crazy projects and realised then, i have something for everyone. Man if you have a big paw or long fingers, wait till you shoot my super blackhawk with a Bisley trigger guard. SBH-B the trigger guard is a quarter of an inch further forward and it is large enough for a full gloved finger! I strapped one on a 500 Linebaugh of mine two weeks ago and just stuck on some factory SBH panels and shoved 35 rounds of 495ers with 31grns of H110 dwn the tube and did not have one contact with a knuckle. I make a SBH-D (Dragoon) as well as a SBH- H. ( Hunter) both of those are available in old model as well, but because of the trigger on an old model i have made what i call a semi bisley trigger guard! However as this progresses i will remedy this with a real bisley trigger for the old model that uses the old factory spring pusher inside the guard that i love so much! And i will make the trigger guard acordingly! I Have as Standard A real XR3 Thanks to Mr potato judge that uses the original grips and dowell placement as well as the screws that hold the panels together. I have it for the new model as well and all that is required on the NM is a simple mod to the trigger spring. The XR3 is considerably shorter in length from the back of the backstrap to frame mating surface than the XR3 RED. And i also make it with the bisley trigger guard. The old blackhawk geometry is the same and available in small trigger or wide! I make one that i call the XR3.5 which is half way between the XR3 and the XR3RED. When i say half way, i mean the lower position of the frame ( Bottom of the grip) XR3 furthest forward XR3 RED furthest to the rear. XR3.5 is right in between!. NOW, oh here we go. Haha. I make all three of these in the new model( XR3, XR3.5 XR3RED) in .300 longer as well as with a bisley trigger guard! New models with a BTG are a full Bisley Trigger inner cut geometry so u have to use a bisley trigger. The old models are available with BH trigger guard or the semi bisley trigger guard and .300 longer as well as a standard BH trigger in of course wide or small trigger! But like i said earlier the full bisley old model triggers are coming! I have taken several pictures of Elmers, King sight co #5 and rendered them to geometry via some really cool vector software i got from a buddy of mine i worked with at the china lake naval weapons facility ( NAWC) I have a perfect replication of that grip shape on what i call The K#5 Original! I also have one that is my standard #5 that i have been building for years with a larger boss(the same size as the Ruger bisley) And yes i make with with the bisley trigger guard as well. I make one that i dreamed up about 1991 that i call the Wells # 9. it is the classic Keith # 5 shape but about .300 longer at the bottom and it is standard with a Bisley trigger guard. Lots of room between knuckle and guard and lots to hold on to. I put it on a 500 Max that just loved to spank me and that was the end of that! To make things clear A Bisley Backstrap as well as a keith have to be cut a certain way as to accept the hammer upright in the angled back or cocked position! A conventional backstrap ( Plowhandle) Does not have to be so open, and it drops down from the backstrap mounting screws. The goal is to keep it all as closed up as possible but not limit functionality. The original Ruger bisley hammer has a bit more meat on the Rear upright of the hammer to take up this gap on a bisley backstrap and will not work on a conventional until it is cut or ground off. Power custom of course makes some very sexy Bisley hammers without this material on it making it perfect for mounting on a conventional Black hawk! I love his stuff man! I have hundreds if not thousands of his parts! They are great. The trigger guard for a Bisley has a different cut inside to accomodate the larger trigger and the fact that it is further forward than the std Blachawk! I also make a round back version of the XR3 RED both in Bis trig guard or standard. As well as a whole slew of birdshead variations! My favorite is the birdsley! It is a bird headed Bisley frame with Bisley Hammer and trigger, the front strap is straighter down than a regular birds head and The K bird has a more curved shape front strap with a Bis guard or standard BH! My lightning uses a bisley trigger because if you look at a colt lightning you will notice that the trigger guard is elongated and very rounded and that there is a droop in the middle upper part of the trigger guard or floor plate of the grip frame. Mine mimics it perfectly and the bisley trigger sits far enough forward to fit right in the middle! Ive seen some really neat copys for the blackhawk but they have conventional BH trigger guard! Here is what i have ready so far. we are working round the clock to get this ready, but i wanted you guys to be first to see it. Something i for got to mention about the .300 + There is a (plus) and a (plus minus) A plus adds .300 to the length of what i call the outer and leaves the inner cut. A plus minus adds .300 to the length and removes more metal out of the inner It is roughly 3/4 s of an ounce in brass and all of about nothing in aluminum. HAHA In the following pic the left is An XR3 RED + - And the right is an XR3 RED + You Might not want the weight or you might want the extra meat to do FUNKY Things, Which of course i am prone to do. LOL Sorry the pic is so crappy. Need a better phone!

Oh Ya and on the plus, The grip panel location hole can be left in the original place or moved down .300 with the rest of it! The plus minus has to be moved!

What a list! Whew, I feels faint!
Ruger Brass Bisley's are my choice Ruger Aluminum Bisley's would be neat for a lightweight project.
One thing on the wish list is a Ruger Bisley for the Old Model three Screw, Specifically the Old Army! ( Brass or Stainless ) ( Bisley hammer for the Old army would be great too! )

Thank you KAYTOD! Been working on it a long time. The part # OM BIS-STD is a regular Ruger Bisley Shape with a Semi Bisley trigger guard that uses either the narrow or wide Old Model trigger, utilizing the original trigger spring and plunger for trigger return. The OM BIS-BHT is a bisley with the Black hawk trigger guard. And the same option of wide or narrow trigger. The following pics are as follows. A 41 special Midframe with aluminum bisley, with narrow (BHTG) Black hawk trigger guard. The 44-1.450 Ronnie Stupid In the next 2 pics is a wide trigger Brass (SBTG) semi bisley trigger guard! Sorry bowt the confusing Nomenclature 44-1.450 Ronnie Stupid. I have built a few for myself and a lot of em for buddys here in town. A couple of freinds of mine at Carters country named Thomas and Rex here in houston, A popular gunstore chain here. Named it 44 Ronnie Stupid because it Darn near matches the velocity of 445 Supermag in a standard length Frame. Of course my cylinders are longer but 1".450 was about all i could squeeze in there and leave a little space for bullet jump! It definitely wakes up an old 44 mag.
