I’ll be honest. Wilson guns are expensive but if you ever need customer service, it’s top notch. I have a little CQB compact that didn’t like some mags. They were WC mags too but they sent label and had it back in like 5 days from the time I shipped it. They make an incredible gun. I have guns from hierloom precision and it’s extremely nice. Actually about as perfect as it could be made but the Wilson Supergrade at half the cost is smoother and just an amazing gun. I have NOT bought an Brown gun. Would love to have one but I just can’t pull the trigger on the purchase because of buddies experiences 😕

Same guys that used to work at Wilson. I don’t own one of theirs but have looked them over a lot. They make a nice gun. Not sure on customer service but I bet it’s good.

I have a couple more Rock River guns ordered right now. NOT Rock Island the one I got last Fall was a very nice built gun. Fit and finish were top notch. Better than any of my Les Baer guns. Sights were nice and square and a quality brand, not an in house knock off style. Barrel fit was perfect and showed nice even wear on pin. I was impressed. Buddy wanted that one so I ordered myself some more. For the money, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better built gun I think. DW makes a GREAT gun for the price. I have some of the Gaurdian and Valkyrie etc and they are nice guns!! It’s nice to have so many options on quality 1911s these days.

Owned Brown and Wilson 1911s that I had built and that I bought as complete guns. Nothing bad to say about either. Met Ed Brown on the hill overlooking the barricade match at Bianchi in '87. Nice guy. Ed built me a 10mm Maxi Comp on the first Colt I found in Birmingham. Had to call Barsto to get one of their first 10mm barrels out of their shop. Dan Wesson has well earned a reputation for making a lot of gun for the money. Rock River 1911s have an excellent reputation in the paper punching world. Les Baer makes a lot of gun for the money but have you ever talked to him? Met him at Bianchi and talked to him on the phone. He'll not get my 1911 money. Nighthawk 1911s and customer service is a good as it gets in my book. FWIW paper punching guns are unique and need to come from recognized paper puncher builders. The other builders will try to tell you they aren't but... They are. My paper punchers come from specialists.

I've hunted with a long slide Nighthawk 10mm and Baer long slide 45 Super for three years now with excellent performance from each gun. So far no problems with either, so no experience with customer service yet. Both are excellent guns in their own way and I couldn't pick a favorite between the two. A friend has Ed Brown 1911s, so I've shot his a bit. Nothing about the Ed Brown guns makes me want one over my guns.
