Oklahoma closing weekend

Well my partner and I broke out the old guns for closing weekend. He took this nice little 8 with a Winchester 1886 mfg in 1895 40-82 BP. Since I had already tagged a buck I took a doe with an 86 mfg in 91 in 40-65. As you can see I hit her a little far back. Couldnt get her to stop. But the 260 FN cast did its job and she only went about 60 yards.

I went out Saturday evening and Sunday evening at my place. I don't hunt my own place, but I wasn't in the mood for a 2 1/2 hour drive to the lease. I had one doe tag left, and Saturday, I watched 6 come off my place to my neighbor's 40 acre rye field. They browsed to within 80 yards of me then crossed and went back into the woods. Same thing Sunday evening, except this time there were seven. I watched until it was too dark to shoot, then moved away quietly to keep from disturbing them.

The freezer is full, so I never bothered to pick up the rifle.

Gary, good job, isn't it amazing how something so simple as a cast bullet can work so efficiently on big game! Congratulations!
